Roundtable with visiting dignitaries from the IDRC-supported Nepal Forest & Wildfire Management Project. These representatives are from the Nepal Department of Forests, Kathmandu Forestry College and the Nepal Forest Fire Management Chapter. The team includes Sundar Prasad Sharma, Mohan Raj Kafle, Dr. Ambika Prasad Gautam, and Gagan Sharma. They will be joined by Iván Somlai, Dr. John Karakatsoulis and Bharat Adhikari.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE
4:30-4:45PM: Introduction
4:45-5:30PM: Presentation by the visiting team on Nepal’s forestry sector/watershed management, community forestry, deforestation, forest fire problems and their impact on the environment.
5:30-6:00PM: Roundtable discussion, Q&A session
