We Measure the Earth with Our Bodies: Book Launch Event with Tsering Yangzom Lama

To celebrate the publication of author Tsering Yangzom Lama’s debut novel We Measure the Earth with Our Bodies (out May 17, 2022), the UBC Himalaya Program will be hosting a book event. Tsering Yangzom Lama will be reading an excerpt from her book, followed by a Q&A moderated by Professor Tsering Shakya (Associate Professor in the Department of Asian Studies and School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, and Steering Committee member of the UBC Himalaya Program) and discussed with Professor Billy-Ray Belcourt (Assistant Professor in Creative Writing).

Tsering Yangzom Lama is a Tibetan writer. She was born and raised in Nepal, and has since lived in Canada and the United States. Tsering earned her MFA in writing from Columbia University and a BA in Creative Writing and International Relations from the University of British Columbia. Her writing has appeared in multiple publications and anthologies, and is the co-founder of LhakarDiaries, a leading English-language blog among Tibetan youth in exile.
